I believe that people should be able to walk through the doors of City Hall and be met with an open-minded, impartial city council that looks for a way to support its residents.

Hello, my name is John Shuman, I was born in Devil's Lake, North Dakota but was raised on a farm just outside of Birchdale, Minnesota. I graduated from Lake of the Woods High School and went on to attend the University of St. Thomas where I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.

After I graduated from the University of St Thomas, I joined the U.S. Secret Service where I served in a variety of areas –as a Minneapolis Field officer, on Vice President Cheney's Detail, an Instructor for the U.S. Secret Service Academy, and worked in the Chicago Field Office. I also supported several United States Presidents including President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.
